About the event
BAS Star Parties are hosted every month (weather permitting) and are completely open to the public. It is a laid-back event in which our members bring their best telescopes and let the public get a look into the lens of an astronomer. We also demonstrate our deep-sky imaging techniques to show how we capture images of nebulas and galaxies. It is hosted at Oak Mountain State Park. Entering the park costs $5 per person, but for members attending to host the Star Party, admission is free. The park must be entered from the south entrance next to I-65. We meet in the circular parking area next to the pavilions. The exact coordinates to head to are 33.328236, -86.754294. Invite your friends to attend this awesome event!
